Due to the running RAC virtual machine, the sharing type of SCSI controller used by the shared disk is selected as "physical", so that the virtual machine can not be migrated online. In order to solve this problem, relevant tests are carried out and the following modification process is worked out.

1) shut down the virtual machine, and the relevant settings need to be turned off before the virtual machine can be executed. To avoid problems with other nodes caused by modified settings, it is recommended that you close all RAC nodes. (it can be operated without closing it)

2) Open the host ssh, enter the storage directory, and create a new directory under the directory to store disk files.

By entering a command:

Create a shared disk file

3) add the disk file to the two RAC virtual machines, and scsi select 1 scsi controller (different from the original local disk)

4) change the SCSI card type

Do the following on the vSphere client:

A) Open "Edit Virtual Machine Settings"

B) Select "SCSI Controller 1"

C) Select "change Type"

D) Select "VMware quasi-virtual" and select "OK"

E) Select "OK" again to perform the modification

Note: please note that SCSI bus sharing should be confirmed as the default value of "none".

1) modify the properties of virtual hard disk

Do the following on the vSphere web client:

A) Open "Edit Virtual Machine Settings"

B) Click "hard disk 2" to expand the option

C) Select "multiple writers" in the "share" option

D) Click "manage other hard drives" to expand the option
