There are three commonly used backup schedules:

(1)。 Only full backup

If the time between two full backups fails, the data will be lost and can only be restored to the last full backup.

(2)。 Full backup + log backup

Adding log backups between full backups can reduce the backup time to a smaller granularity. You can make a full backup every day and a log backup every hour or half an hour. In this case, if the failure occurs at 23:59, it will take a long time for the operation to recover if a full backup+23 transaction log backup is needed for restore.

(3)。 Full backup + differential backup + log backup

Add differential backups (differential backup) between full backups, and log backups between differential backups.

As for which backup strategy to choose, it should be used flexibly according to the actual situation (RTO, RPO, Server loading, etc.).
