I. the configuration method of Trunk

The following page is laid out in GNS 3. Before powering on, equip sw1 and sw2 with two layers of business veneer and disk space (not too small, about 100 is enough)

First turn off the routing function in sw1 (emphasized many times), and then configure the broadcast domain for vlan 10 and 20

Enter the display command to view, and the figure shows that the configuration has been completed.

Then go to port 1, 1 and 1, add 1 vlan 0 to the domain of vlan 10, and add 1 shock 1 to the domain of vlan 20. (the red box is the abbreviation of the command; if there is any confusion, check my blog article on how to do it).

Enter the command to see that both ports have been added to the broadcast domain of 10 and 20

Then enter the command do show int F1 switchport 0 to view the current link mode, which is the access link mode in the figure

Then enter port 1max 2 and enter the Trunk command. Switchport mode trunk enters interface configuration mode; trunk encapsulation dot1q is a command that encapsulates the dot1q protocol

Enter the command to view the configured mode, which is Trunk

Four ip addresses are drawn up for four PCs, all of which are set as ip of the same network segment to facilitate the results of later operation.

Use the ping command to try to make four PCs communicate in pairs. The following picture shows that pc in the same Vlan domain can communicate. Pc in different Vlan domains cannot communicate with each other even in the same network segment.

Run the package grab software in GNS 3 software, grab the communication information between pc2 and sw1, right-click on the line with the mouse, and select the first one to turn on this function.

Second, once again, make pc2 establish communication with pc4. We can see the data captured by the packet crawling software. The red box below shows the back and forth transmission of the data.

We double-click to open a row of data and observe the specific information.

In the details page that opens, you can see information such as version number 4, header length 20 bytes, source MAC, destination MAC address, source data, and destination data.

In retrospect, we grab the data information between sw1 and sw2, connect pc2 and pc4 with the ping command, and double-click to open the details page

At this point, we find that this page has more VLAN numbers than the previous page, and the figure is VLAN 20. In fact, this is marked by sw1 on the data frame and then sent to sw2.

Let's connect pc1 and pc3 to view the details page of crawling data again.

The VLAN number in the details page is now 10, which proves that the trunk link has been opened and can carry a variety of vlan, and all vlan numbers can pass through the trunk link.

Second, the steps of establishing Ethernet channel

The following is my broadened knowledge about how to open an Ethernet channel, which requires at least two or more links, and the ports are all Trunk. As for why it is necessary to open the Ethernet channel, it can increase the bandwidth of the link and greatly improve the reliability of the link.

First connect a console line again on sw1 and sw2

Go to port 1amp 5 in sw1 and configure Trunk. After completing the configuration, check it again and find that the port is not open. We randomly enter no shut to open port 1max 5; configure port 1max 5 on sw2 according to this method (not to repeat)

If we want to merge the original channel-group 2 interface on the sw1 with the current 1max 5 interface, we need to operate on both interfaces at the same time. The int range f1max 2 and f1max 5 commands can operate at the same time. Finally, we enter the redundant command: channel-group 1 port, which can make the two ports redundant. The same procedure is done on both ports of sw2

After the setting is completed, close the port 1 of sw1 and 2, and test whether the Ethernet channel we set can communicate properly.

It is found that pc2 can communicate with pc4 and pc1 can communicate with pc3. It proves that our Ethernet channel has been successfully established.
