Samsung's Galaxy S21 series hit stores early this year, but there are still plenty of rumors about the Galaxy S21 Fan Edition or Galaxy S21 FE.

The Galaxy S21 FE will take over from the excellent Galaxy S20 FE and will likely strike the right balance between price and functionality once again. That is all we have heard so far.

Cheaper than Galaxy S21

The Samsung Galaxy S20 Fan Edition model was released in September 2020 and launched in October 2020. It is said that there is a Samsung device model SM-G990B in development, most likely Galaxy S21 FE, and it will be launched in the second half of 2021.

Since the Galaxy S21 series was launched earlier than the Galaxy S20 series, there were initial rumors that the Galaxy S21 FE might also be a little earlier than its predecessor. After it didn't appear on Galaxy Unpacked on August 11, though, all eyes are now on Q4 2021 to align it with its predecessor's timeline.

The device is said to be available for pre-order from October 20 and available from October 29, which is related to the Samsung Galaxy Unpacked Part 2 event held on October 20, but the S21 FE was not announced at the event.

Recent reports say it will be unveiled at CES 2022 in January, although there are also reports that the device has been cancelled due to a chip shortage, so don't get too excited.

In terms of price, we expect the Galaxy S21 FE to be lower than the Galaxy S21 if it appears. The Galaxy S20 FE 4G model starts at £ 599 in the UK-it's not available in the US-and the 5G model costs £ 599 in the UK and $599 in the US, so we expect a similar pitch for the Galaxy S21 FE.
