LG told its customers that they had no plans to support AirPlay 2 or HomeKit in smart TVs until 2019, which caused a lot of trouble for users.

As early as April, LG knew clearly that support for AirPlay 2 and HomeKit would indeed appear in models before 2019. According to the report:

LG initially said it would only bring AirPlay 2 and HomeKit support to its TV in 2019, but now it has changed its tone. LG will also provide some support for older equipment in 2018, according to a new report.

MacRumors has found that the support documentation has been updated and now shows that some models, including SK and UK LCD models, are supporting Apple technology. In the field of organic light-emitting diodes, B8 to Z9 televisions should also be very good.

However, as MacRumors pointed out, LG quickly changed its tone and deleted the reference to the technology in the support document. Since then, LG told the client in a tweet to the client that there were no plans to update the TV by using AirPlay 2 or HomeKit before 2019:

As you might expect, customers are angry at this decision, including a statement:

Your company should be ashamed. I believe that more than 22.000 of customers will never buy other products from LG, because we know that your product has a useful life of less than 2 years. Especially considering that you said you would update the 2018 TV series on the website, it has been deleted now!

Given LG's previous promises, another person described the fiasco as a "very bad performance" and said it would be the last LG product they bought.

More than 21000 customers signed a petition asking LG to increase its support, and LG appeared to have succeeded in getting the news earlier this year. These hopes are now dashed, and many LG TVs do not have basic AirPlay 2 and HomeKit functions in less than two years.
