> ESXi management traffic and virtual machine data traffic are connected from the vmnic0 Nic of the ESXi host to the external physical network through the vSwitch0 virtual switch. When the traffic of the virtual machine is too large, it may affect the administrator to manage the ESXi host. And to ensure that ESXi hosts can always be managed, it is recommended that ESXi management traffic be separated from virtual machine data traffic. In this case, two network cards will be added to the ESXi host, using host-only mode. Create a new virtual switch in ESXi, as well as a new virtual machine port group. The new virtual switch is connected to the external physical network through two network cards, and the two network cards form a load balance, namely NIC Team. Finally, change the virtual network connection of CentOS to the new virtual machine port group.

1. Open the CentOS client installed in VMware ESXi and look at the IP address.

2. Check the virtual network connection mode of the VMware ESXi virtual machine, in this case, NAT

3. Then check the IP address of the native VMware Network Adapter VMnet8 virtual network card, which is 192.168.169.1 hand 24.

4. Open the configuration bar, hardware, network of the ESXi host in vSphere Client, and view the virtual machine and virtual network in VMware ESXi.

5. Shut down the ESXi host and add two host-only NICs to the ESXi host in VMware Workstation

6. Open the ESXi host and connect to the ESXi host using vSphere Client. Select ESXi host 192.168.169.131, switch to the "configuration" bar, point, hardware, network adapter, you can see that the ESXi host identified three network cards vmnic0, vmnic1, vmnic2.

7. Click hardware, Network, and click "add Network" in the upper right.

8. Select the connection type as "virtual machine".

9. Select "create vSphere standard switch", and select vmnic1 and vmnic2 network cards.

10. Configure the network label of the port group.

11. Complete the add Network Wizard

12. You can see that ESXi has created a new standard switch vSwitch2, which is associated with the VM Network 2 port group, and the uplink ports are vmnic1 and vmnic2.

13. Click the properties of the standard switch vSwitch2, select VM Network 2, click Edit, switch to the "Network Card binding" tab, and select "load balancing", "Network failover Detection" and "Notification switch". The list of options remains the default.

14. Edit the virtual machine settings of the client CentOS. At network adapter 1, select VM Network 2 for the network label of the network connection.

15. In the ESXi host configuration, you can see that the CentOS 6. X86'64 virtual machine is connected to the virtual machine port group VM Network 2 in the network.

16. The IP address of the virtual machine should be configured as the VMware Workstation IP address of the network segment 192.168.182.0 of the host-only mode VMnet1 network.

17. Execute netstat-an on the local machine, and you can see that the SSH connection information between the local machine and the virtual machine is connected through the vmnet1 virtual network 192.168.1.0 and 24. The management connection between the local computer and the ESXi host is connected through the vmnet8 virtual network 192.168.169.0 Universe 24.
