Shulou(Shulou.com)05/31 Report--
Whenever the phrase "gaming laptop" comes up, most of us use some crazy RGB lighting to visualize bulky and bulky laptops. Lately, manufacturers have tried to get rid of this idea and try to make gaming laptops slimmer, but good intentions don't always translate into real products. Against this backdrop, the all-new Dell G7 15 is a particularly attractive option.
The new G7 15 laptop seems to be the best on paper. I got a fully equipped laptop with the latest Intel 8th Gen Core i7 processor and NVIDIA RTX 2060 graphics. At around Rs 157400, it's expensive but seems like a reasonable machine considering the market for gaming laptops. In fact, it is the best choice for game lovers, providing the right combination of strength and shape on paper.
Get some fresh air.
Dell is synonymous with some of the most elegant laptops on the market, and the company has extended that same philosophy to its G-Series game lineup. At first glance, the G7 15 is exactly the same as any other Dell Inspiron laptop. Considering that these designs are the most practical on a daily basis, that's not a bad thing. Since you pay up to Rs 150,000, Dell offers you a high quality metal body.
The G7 15 has also adopted alien laptop design cues in the past-the lid rests on a hinge that appears to float above the rim. There are several ports in the back that prevent heavy cables and wires from leaving you. Since the hinge is almost at the top, I believe the G7 15 can withstand some accidental drops without affecting its structural integrity. The edges are uniquely breathable to help adjust visual volume. It also hosts important ports-USB-C Thunderbolt port, 3 USB-A ports, headphone jack, SD card slot, mini HDMI port, regular HDMI port, RJ45 LAN port.
When you open the lid, you'll find a neat keyboard layout and a fairly large touchpad. The subtle G7 logo is located next to the smooth strip of power buttons and looks elegant. A new feature of this year's G7 series is the narrow-bezel display, which allows for a more realistic display.
Overall, the G7 15 can easily be one of the most elegant gaming laptops I've ever used. Subtle blue tones and blue backlit keys make it a treat. The metal body feels good and doesn't have any versatile stickers or graphics, meaning you can use it in the office or coffee shop without being stared at. Why can't other gaming laptops follow this design philosophy?
Show: Prepare to be spoiled.
Today, gaming laptops don't just need good CPUs and GPUs to sell well. The display is one of the key aspects of gaming laptops, and Dell makes sure you don't complain about the G7 15. This is a 15.6-inch IPS LCD with a resolution of 1920 x 1080. Similar to many of its competitors, the G7 15 display has a refresh rate of 144Hz.
Every day, the display on the G7 15 provides a comfortable viewing experience. The screen presents bright colors, strong contrast and sufficient brightness. The viewing angle is impressive and the screen barely fades at extreme angles, so watching movies in groups of three is a pleasant experience. The refresh rate of 144Hz makes the gaming experience very smooth-I was spoiled by the smoothness of the screen and it was painful to go back to a computer with a 60Hz display.
Performance: Top tier.
This is part of a gaming laptop that I can hardly complain about. The G7 15 is Dell's midrange gaming laptop, so it has all the specs you'd expect. The variant I use is an Intel Core i7 8750H CPU running at 2.20GHz and 16GB of memory. A combination of a 256GB SSD and a 1TB hard drive meets storage requirements. Graphics include NVIDIA RTX 2060 GPU and 6GB VRAM. As always, Windows 10 onboard handles everyday items.
Add to that such powerful specs that laptops barely struggle. Dell's other enhancements, such as a customized cooling system and some minor behind-the-scenes software enhancements, ensure that the G7 15 can continue to deliver consistent performance for longer. Playing Watchdog 2 for nearly two hours a day, the laptop returned to a healthy 40-60 fps at ultra-high settings.
Codemaster's F1 2018 ran at its highest setting for four hours and returned a consistent 60-80 fps. RTX series graphics cards are known for ray tracing effects. Unfortunately, I haven't supported the game yet. That said, other non-ray tracing games benefit greatly from this awesome GPU. In short, this configuration can easily handle most modern games with high graphics.
Practicality: It is painful to solve this problem now.
I've used a lot of gaming laptops, and none are as useful and easy to use as the G7. The compact 15.6-inch form factor makes it easy to carry in a backpack. Of course, the G7 15 isn't the lightest laptop with a metal chassis and custom cooling system, but Dell's smart engineering ensures it's not limited to desktops.
And then the keyboard. - That's fantastic. These keys have plenty of room to move around and type easily. The spacious layout reduces ghosting to a greater extent, while the elegant blue backlight provides a comfortable typing experience. The trackpad has a matte surface that helps move the cursor precisely. A slightly larger touchpad would be better.
As for battery life, it's almost comparable to most gaming laptops at this price point. The G7 15 can last up to four hours without any normal gaming use. therefore
If you plan to get some work done in close to 8-9 hours, you'll still need to carry a charging adapter.
All in all, this is one of the most practical gaming laptops I've used in a long time. When you're not playing games or rendering videos, the G7 15 can be used as a laptop.
Audio: That harsh note
The G7 15's built-in speakers sound good. If you rely on these speakers, you won't enjoy playing games. There seems to be a lack of low-end audio performance. On the plus side, the higher frequencies are decent, and the volume is high enough to fill a small room. Similar to most gaming laptops, I recommend plugging in headphones or external speakers for optimal audio speakers.
Should you buy the Dell G7 15?
Yes. Absolutely.
The G7 15 is one of the few laptops that is good at almost everything that is important for a good laptop. Most gaming laptops are very good at making gaming laptops, but are using regular laptops. The G7 15 is a powerful gaming laptop that can meet your gaming needs while also being a very good traditional laptop. Performance, presentation, design and practicality-all in the best position. Starting at Rs 1,57,399, the Dell G7 15 is ideal for those who want to carry a gaming laptop around without using it without compromising performance.
