Install Skype for Business Server on servers in the topology

Once you have published a topology, you can install the Skype for Business Server components on each server in the topology. This section guides you through installing Skype for Business Server and setting up the server roles for the Front End pool and any server roles that are collocated with the Front End servers. To install and set up server roles, you run the Skype for Business Server Deployment Wizard on each computer on which you are installing a server role. You use the Deployment Wizard to complete all four deployment steps, including installing the Local Configuration store, installing the Front End Servers, configuring certificates, and starting services.

1. Install local configuration storage

A) on the deployment Wizard page, click install or Update the Skype for Business Server system.

B) next to step 1: install the local configuration store, click run.

Determine that the deployment status is too slow!

C) on the install Local configuration Store page, make sure the retrieve directly from Central Management Store option is selected, and then click next.

D) after completing the local server configuration installation, you should click finish.

two。 Install the server components of Skype for Business Server

A). In the deployment wizard, verify that step 1: install Local configuration Storage has a green check mark that indicates that this server has successfully installed a local copy of the storage. If not selected, you need to install the local configuration store on the server. Follow the steps to install the local configuration store in Skype for Business Server 2015, and then return here.

B) when you are ready to install Skype for Business Server 2015 components on the server, click run next to step 2: install or remove Skype for Business Server components.

C) on the install Skype for Business Server components page, click next to install the components as defined in the published topology.

D) the Command in Progress page displays a summary of commands and installation information during installation. When you are finished, you can use the list to select the log you want to view, and then click View Log.

E) when the installation of the Skype for Business Server 2015 components is complete and you have viewed the logs as needed, click finish to complete this step in the installation.

3. Request, install, assign certificates

A) in the Skype for Business Server deployment wizard, click run next to step 3: request, install, or assign certificates.

B) on the Certificate Wizard page, click request.

C) on the Certificate request page, click next.

On the Select Certificate Authority (CA) page, select the option to select a CA from the list detected in your environment, and then select a known CA from the list that is already registered with the Active Directory domain service. Alternatively, select the specify a different certification authority option, enter the name of the other CA in the box, and then click next.

On the name and Security Settings page, specify a friendly name that should identify the certificate and purpose. If you leave this blank, the system automatically generates a name. Set the bit length of the key, or accept the default value of 2048 bits. If you determine that you need to move or copy the certificate and private key to another system, select Mark the private key of the certificate as exportable, and then click next.

On the Organization Information page, you can choose to provide organization information, and then click next.

On the Geographic Information page, you can choose to provide geographic information, and then click next.

On the subject name / subject alternative name page, review the user alternative name that will be added, and then click next.

On the SIP Domain Settings page, select SIP Domain, and then click next.

D) on the Certificate request Summary page, check the information in the summary. If the information is correct, click next. If you need to correct or modify the settings, click back to return to the appropriate page to correct or modify.

E) on the executing Command page, click next.

F) on the online Certificate request status page, check the information returned. Notice that the certificate has been published and installed in the local certificate store. If the report certificate is published and installed, but is not valid, make sure that the CA root certificate is installed in any trusted root CA store on the server. For information about how to retrieve the trusted root CA certificate, see the CA documentation. If you need to view the retrieved certificate, click View Certificate details. By default, the assign this certificate to Skype for Business Server certificate usage check box is selected. If you want to manually assign a certificate, clear this check box, and then click finish.

G). If you cleared the assign this certificate to Skype for Business Server certificate use check box on the previous page, the Certificate assignment page is displayed. Click next.

H) on the Certificate allocation Summary page, review the information displayed to ensure that this certificate is the certificate that should be assigned, and then click next.

I) on the executing Command page, check the output of the command. If you want to check the allocation process or see if there are errors or warnings, click View Log. When the check is complete, click finish.

J) on the Certificate Wizard page, make sure the status of the certificate is assigned, and then click close.

4. Start the service on the server

A) in the Skype for Business Server deployment wizard, on the Skype for Business Server 2015 page, click run next to step 4: start the service.

Deployment complete.
