Login to exchange OWA will require a user name and password by default. The user name requires the format of domain\ user name, as shown below:

For end users, it is much easier to fill in username if you omit domain. So how to set up Exchange 2016?

Simply log in to Exchange ECP and edit the owa virtual directory under "Server"-> Virtual directory, as shown below:

Remember to restart IIS

Under the Powershell command line:

Set-OwaVirtualDirectory "owa (Default Web Site)"-LogonFormat Username-DefaultDomain [your domain name]

Restart IIS as well

Iisreset / noforce
