Shulou(Shulou.com)05/31 Report--
I would like to share with you the example analysis of distribution and clustering in the database. I believe most people don't know much about it, so I hope you can learn a lot after reading this article. Let's take a look at it!
Distributed and clustered
Cluster
A cluster is a computer system that collaborates closely to complete computing work through a set of loosely integrated computer software and / or hardware. In a sense, they can be regarded as a computer. A single computer in a cluster system is often called a node and is usually connected through a local area network, but there are other possible ways to connect. Cluster computers are often used to improve the computing speed and / or reliability of a single computer. In general, cluster computers are much more cost-effective than individual computers, such as workstations or supercomputers.
The cluster has the following two characteristics:
Scalability: the performance of the cluster is not limited to a single service entity, and new service entities can be dynamically added to the cluster to enhance the performance of the cluster.
High availability: cluster when one of the nodes fails, the applications running on that node will be automatically taken over at the other node. Eliminating a single point of failure is very important to enhance data availability, accessibility and reliability.
Two capabilities of a cluster:
Load balancing: load balancing distributes tasks evenly to computing and network resources in a cluster environment to improve data throughput.
Error recovery: if one of the servers in the cluster is unavailable due to failure or maintenance needs, resources and applications will be transferred to available cluster nodes. This process in which resources in one node cannot work and resources in another available node can transparently take over and continue to complete the task is called error recovery.
Load balancing and error recovery require that there are resources in each service entity to perform the same task, and the view of information required to perform the task must be the same for each resource of the same task.
Distributed system
Understanding of the distributed concept: multiple nodes work together to accomplish one thing, and each node in the distribution does different functions.
Everyone has a different division of labor, working together to do one thing, called "distributed".
Cluster, distributed distinction
When it comes to clustering, you may immediately think of another word that is very similar to it-"distributed". So are clustering and distribution the same thing? What are the connections and differences?
Similarities: both distributed and cluster require many node servers to work together through the network to achieve the overall task goal.
Difference: distributed refers to the split of business systems, that is, each distributed node implements different functions. Each node in the cluster does the same thing.
