Create a shared folder

There are two locations in Qunhui DSM where you can create a shared folder, one in the control panel and the other in the File station, where you can set the shared folder name and delete the shared folder.

In Control Panel-> shared folder-> New

In the File station suite

1. Take the control panel to create a shared folder as an example, click Control Panel-> shared folder-> add

2. Enter the shared folder creation wizard, fill in the name of the shared folder, and select the storage location

3. Whether to encrypt the shared folder. After encryption, decryption key will be generated (encrypt as needed).

4. Whether to enable the shared folder quota, which refers to how much space the shared folder can use in the entire system (when this threshold is exceeded, storing the data in it will report an error and indicate that there is insufficient space)

5. The application completes the creation of the shared folder

6. Set the user's permission to change the shared folder

7. The shared folder has been created

Shared folders built into the system

When a service or application that requires these shared folders is enabled, the system automatically creates these shared folders built into the system (these folders are not recommended to be deleted, and the suite may not work properly after deletion).

Second, set the permissions of shared folders

1. Select Control Panel-> shared folder, select the created shared asking price folder, and click Edit.

2. The interface is the property panel of the shared folder, including the location of storage, permission settings and so on. Here we choose permissions.

3. Here we can see the permission settings for the folder for the user

4. We can also set permissions for the folder in more detail and check "Custom". Here we can set folder users to this shared folder, and we can also set this folder and its subfolders, subfiles, and descendant files.

ACL permissions can be classified according to the following:

Management:

Change permissions: this controls whether users can change file or folder permissions.

Take ownership: this controls whether the user has ownership of a file or folder.

Read:

Traversing folders / execution files: this controls whether users can run program files.

List folders / read data: this controls whether users can read file data.

Read properties: this controls whether users can view file properties.

Read extended properties: this controls whether users can view file extended properties.

Read permissions: this controls whether users can read file or folder permissions.

Write:

Create file / write data: this controls whether the user can change the contents of the file.

Create folder / additional data: this controls whether the user can add data at the end of the file.

Write properties: this controls whether the user can change the file properties.

Write extension properties: this controls whether the user can change the file extension properties.

Delete subfolders and files: this controls whether users can delete folders.

Delete: this controls whether the user can delete the file.

About permission inheritance:

ACL permissions are inherited from parent objects to child objects. For example, if the ACL entry in the "sales" folder grants the user "Amy" permission, the ACL entry will be applied to all files in the "sales" folder (for example, "annual report.xls"), allowing the user to open the file. Inherited permissions are grayed out, and the object's own permissions (or "explicit" permissions) are displayed in black.
