Log in as root user (required to install Flash Media Server)

Find the installation file, FlashMediaServer2.tar.gz.

Client program files are SWF and HTML files. When developing an application, you can save the client file anywhere.

Server-side files, including script files (ASC files), stream files (such as FLV files) and shared object files (FSO files), must be placed on the server computer.

When developing a program, you must register the application directory under the applications directory with your application name. For example, if your program is called my_app, you should create a subdirectory called my_app under the applications directory. Then put all the files related to my_app in this subdirectory (... / application/myapp). You can change your application directory by modifying FMS.ini.

In development, you can save the client file and the server program file together if you like. When deploying an application to a public server, you should separate the client file from the server file. If you use a web server, your SWF and HTML files should be accessible through the Web server.
