Shulou(Shulou.com)05/31 Report--
Developers of Forza Horizo n 5 promised to add on-screen sign language interpreters shortly after the game was released in November and announced on Monday that they would add the feature to the March 1 update. As part of the update, the game will support both American sign language (ASL) and British sign language (BSL) in-game animation.
While subtitles may be a useful way to understand what is happening during the game, sign language may be a better way for some people to understand what is happening, especially if sign language is someone's first language. If you turn on this feature, the sign language translation is highlighted in the transition animation. You can see how it works (or by scrubbing to 4:55) in the video embedded at the top of this article.
As far as I know, Forza Horizo n 5 is the first video game to provide such sign language support, adding many other existing accessibility features, including multiple ways to customize subtitles, screen reader narration, and color blindness mode. Microsoft, which owns Playground Games, the developer of Forza Horizo n 5, also makes Xbox Adaptive Controller designed for disabled players.
