The default input method framework of the fedora platform is ibus, and the default is English input method, which is also a feature of most linux distributions. (unless the Chinese input method is used by default in domestic operating systems)

As an ordinary Chinese user, the first problem when starting to use a new system is localization, and the first step of localization, graphical interface localization, cannot reach 100% on the linux platform, but it is barely acceptable; the second step of localization, the Chinese input method, is more difficult, because there are not many options, and the experience cannot be compared with the Chinese input on Windows and Mac. In addition, a large number of excellent Chinese input methods, such as Sogou, Baidu, QQ Input, and so on, have formed the Chinese people's Chinese input habits, and once they encounter the need for users to configure on their own, it is like killing them.

I have tried several Chinese input methods on fedora:

The first one is ibus-libpinyin.

This Chinese input method is acceptable as the default Chinese input of the system, but it is not suitable for use all the time. Because the thesaurus is really crippled.

The second one is Sogou. Undeniably, the input experience of Sogou on windows is still very good, in addition to the possibility that there are many ads pushed, the other is still worth recommending. But on linux, this is not the case. Due to a variety of reasons, the cross-platform software experience is not very good. When I use Sogou Input on fedora/centos, when I encounter a serious bug-- input of almost 100-200 words, I get stuck, and the entire input method is so stuck that I can't even enter English, so I have no choice but to restart it. Finally gave up using Sogou Input.

The third one is rime, which I recommend. Apart from the difficulty of personalized customization, there are no other disadvantages.

The thesaurus is also reasonable, and you can import it if necessary. Daily input is effortless. Even if you enter it for a long time, it won't get stuck. It's fast.

Fcitx-rime is actually recommended, but fcitx is not the default input framework for fedora.

So I recommend ibus-rime.

After installing the system, you can install ibus-rime directly on the network.

Query whether this input method is available in the library:

Dnf list | grep ibus-rime

If so, you can install:

Dnf install-y ibus-rime

After the installation is complete, from Settings-region, language-input-add, find ibus-rime, add-restart.

Set the ibus-rime shortcut to control+ `(the key to the left of the number 1 in the upper left corner of the keyboard)

Choose simplified and you can use it.
