EI contribution Guide

In recent years, many readers want to contribute to SCIEI, but miss the opportunity because they are not clear about their contribution requirements. We synthesize the views of experts and sum up the following methods for readers' reference to the problem of EI contribution.

1. EI company mainly collects engineering journals, and the professional scope of its papers is strictly controlled within the scope of its interest. Therefore, when it is included, not all the papers published in the source journals are included.

2. The papers included in EI have strict requirements on the abstract (abstract). Because EICompendxWeb only contains abstracts of papers and does not show the full text. Therefore, no matter how well your paper is written, if the abstract does not reflect the level of your paper, EI will not include your paper in EICompendxWeb, but most in EIPageOne, which is the main reason why papers in the same field are published in the same EI source journals, some are included by EICompendxWeb, some are included by EIPageOne, and some are not included at all.

How to write abstracts to improve the hit rate? According to Mary Borg, vice president of EI database, we can sum it up as follows:

1) there are generally two kinds of abstracts of papers, one is called Informative (information type) abstract, and the other is called Indicative (title type) abstract. Information abstracts are generally used in sci-tech papers. The main contents of this kind of abstract should be: the subject content, research methods, research results and final conclusions of the paper.

2) the number of words of the abstract should not be too much, about 150 English words, and not too few. Be sure to explain the content clearly and write it in English.

3) in the summary, do not write too much background material of the research project, mainly state your own research results.

4) do not write about your future research goals and research directions in the summary, because it is unrealistic and meaningless.

5) do not write words such as "reported" and "obtained by investigation" in the summary.

6) the abstract should not only be written in English, but also its writing style must be good, because some judges have higher requirements for the writing style of the abstract. If you encounter such a judge, your article is likely to be defeated.

7) according to the requirements of EI, the title of the article must be written in English and the name of the author must be clearly written. EI searches the author's name in the same order as in Chinese, usually with the last name first, followed by the first name, connected by a comma and a space. For example, Zhang Xiaohong, EI person name search and write zhang,xiaohong. In addition, starting from this year, EI requires the author to provide more information, such as the author's organization, address, zip code and E-mail address, so that readers can communicate with the author.

In short, your article should not only reflect the high level of your research, the summary of the article should be concise, well-organized, but also beautiful. Only in this way can your contribution hit rate be improved.
