Shulou(Shulou.com)06/02 Report--

I want to analyze the recent experience and process of learning Linux. At that time, I was a junior and a student. I didn't have any special understanding of open source before. I just thought it was very profound. Although I didn't understand it, I thought it was very powerful. At that time, because the school had to participate in a vocational skills competition, there was a group competition, and several students formed a team. For example, several students were in charge of basic network construction. Several students are responsible for common server building, then here involves the relevant knowledge of Linux, a lot of the knowledge of Linux is open source, but it takes time and effort to learn.

At that time, the school I was in was not a famous school, and there were no teachers specializing in Linux-related education, so I had to study by myself (very painful). The teacher in charge of tutoring is only an Linux enthusiast himself, so he only instructs the students according to brother Bird's book, and then let us teach ourselves how to finish it. When I first came into contact with Bird, I was attracted by his lively and humorous teaching style, but with the passage of time, Bird's book was discarded by me. You ask me why? Anyone who has read Brother Bird's book knows that it is too thick! It seems that I am really not a person who loves to learn. I don't have the patience and perseverance to finish reading Brother Bird, so what should I do? You still have to learn Linux, and you have to participate in the competition.

After more than two months of twists and turns, I finally got a not-so-bad result in the national competition (municipal, provincial and national selection competition), the second prize! In fact, this result is really very low, because it is the 14th! Alas, so this is also one of my regrets, because I put Linux down. It was not until last year when the school opened the Linux course that I regained my love and love for Linux, but there had to be some teaching materials to learn (the school textbook was too bad to vomit), so I signed up for the RHCE training in the field and got the official textbook of Red Hat (even worse! ), in the face of the change of Red Hat RHEL7 system, it means egg pain. When I was searching materials on Baidu, I came across a book "Linux should learn this way". Strictly speaking, this is not a book, because it was not published or made into the form of an e-book at that time, but is free online, so it is more like a series of blog posts. Now that it has been published, the book is based on the latest RHEL, with tasks to clarify the content of each chapter, and the background knowledge (principles and usage scenarios) of each chapter will be introduced, so it is really refreshing to use this book with field training to learn RHEL7.

Having said that, let's sum up how beginners learn Linux:

First of all, don't worry about which distribution to learn, all distributions are based on the Linux kernel, so you can easily master other distributions once you have learned any one.

First, choose a set of teaching materials that are suitable for you, whether books or video tutorials, are just to cooperate with you to learn Linux, so be sure to choose the appropriate teaching materials, which also said my understanding and feelings about some teaching materials. It is recommended to choose a book, mainly to study the book "this is how to learn Linux", which greatly reduces the cost of learning (time and money), and you can also find some video tutorials as supporting materials. At that time, I installed the contents of the books and set up each kind of service, so I encountered a lot of problems and pits, and I also had a deeper understanding of myself.

Second, if you can, please find a teacher who will take you to the beginning. When beginners learn Linux, they will inevitably have some confused or brilliant ideas, but books or videos are dead and can't take all the questions and aspects into consideration, so your questions may not be answered, which is extremely painful for learners. It feels like there is always a stone in their hearts. Therefore, it is very important to find a teacher who can give you an introduction, who can help you solve problems, and who can help you find a way to learn. And as the old saying goes, "the master leads the door, practice depends on the individual." a good teacher helps you lay a solid foundation and is of great help to your future growth and study.

Third, remember not to conflict with English, because learning Linux may require access to a large number of English words and materials. I like the man command in the Linux command very much. But is a curly "foreigner". If you can't understand what "he" says, then your learning effect will be greatly reduced. Sometimes Baidu can't give you the answer you want, and you don't have a teacher who can help you, so you have to go to Google. If you don't have an answer in Chinese, you have to search English, so don't conflict with English. In particular, all kinds of open source software, or leading edge technologies, are almost all in English at the beginning, and if you want to master it before others, then you really need this language skill.

Fourth, do more hands-on practice. There is nothing to say about this. Learning anything is "practice makes perfect". We must practice and think more, so that we can learn solidly and reliably. It's not that you understand it, especially when it comes to operation and programming, only when you do it will you find that there is any difference between what you are doing and what you are doing.
