Let's talk about more applications of Alert in Azure. Normally, cloud vendors will have their own SLA guarantee. For example, for virtual machines in the availability set, SLA is 99.95%, which can protect part of the interests of customers from a business point of view. However, technically speaking, no cloud can guarantee 100% availability, so sometimes there will be some service outage. For users, knowing this outage at the first time and taking corresponding measures can often minimize the impact.

In Azure, you can subscribe to Azure service's status through alerts. Platform-level failures must occur, or updates with some failures can be received in time.

The method is also very simple. First, log in to Azure, select the Alerts service, and click add activity Alert.

Fill in some basic information here, such as alert name, etc. Here in event category, please select service health

After that, here in service, you can select the service that you focus on. Generally, you can select all of them.

After that, we need to define an action group. As its name implies, action group is an action group. We can define the action that needs to be done after the alert is triggered as an action group. First, we can fill in the name of action group.

And then you can see three main kinds of action type here in action type.

1. The most commonly used Email/SMS

2. Webhook

3. Automation Runbook

Webhook and runbook will have the opportunity to share about these two related applications in the future. Here, you can select email and fill in the email address.

After filling in, click OK.

After you have created the action group, you will receive an email indicating that you have joined the action group
