Preparation: complete the physical connection of Big Cloud Fabric (hereinafter referred to as BCF) and power up

Step 1: after the controller is powered on, initialize the configuration through the Serial connector or on-site KVM display keyboard.

Step 2: if the user uses the agreement, enter yes to agree to proceed to the next initialization step

Step 3: run the system initialization requirement test, and find that the hardware condition does not meet the recommended value. Because it is only a simulation test, select [2] Continue anyway.

Step 4: enter initialization configuration (1) set system recovery password and hostname

This password cannot be changed and must be kept in mind for password recovery.

Step 5: initialize configuration (2) set up the management network, which supports the coexistence of IPv4 and IPv6. This setting only uses IPv4, so choose [1] IPv4 only.

Step 6: to set the cluster information, you can choose to create a new cluster or join the existing cluster to achieve redundancy. Since this test is installed for the first time, select [1] Star a new Cluster and configure the cluster.

Note that the password set when setting the cluster is the password used by the controller admin user to log in and manage, which should be distinguished from the system recovery password of Step 4. The password set in this step can be recovered or modified!

Step 7: set up the NTP server. The project can be modified and adjusted later in this step, so [1] Use default NTP servers is used here.

Step 8: confirm the initialization configuration. Enter 1 to write the system initialization settings. If any item setting is incorrect or the password setting is uncertain, enter the corresponding serial number to modify and edit the item.

Step 9: enter Enter to confirm that the initialization configuration is complete

Step 10: log in to the CLI control interface using SSH2 through the CLI tool or GUI control interface using Google, Firefox or Safari browsers

Up to now, the initialization of the controller online configuration has been completed, from the CLI and GUI interfaces can be seen that the controller is in Standalone mode, that is, stand-alone operation.

In the actual production environment, it is recommended to use two controllers to form a redundant cluster.

The configuration of the first controller is the same as described above.

When the second controller is in Step 6, select [2] Join an existing cluster, join the existing cluster, and enter the admin user password of the cluster to join the cluster, and the configuration will be automatically synchronized!
