Editor to share with you how to set the disabled global menu in the Ubuntu system, I believe most people do not know much about it, so share this article for your reference, I hope you can learn a lot after reading this article, let's learn about it!

Since Ubuntu 11.04, a new feature called global menu has been added, which is a common menu bar shared by all applications (shown above). Most of us have been used in each application window with our own menu bar. Global menus are available on the top panel of the Unity desktop, regardless of where the application window is located. If the application window in the lower-right corner of your screen is resized to small, the application's menu bar is still on the top panel. If you're not used to it, it can be confusing and uncomfortable. This experience is mainly based on "this is how Linux should learn". If you don't like the new global menu and want to move the menu bar back to each application window, we will show you how to disable the global menu.

1. Press Ctrl + Alt + T to open the terminal window. Type the following command at the prompt, and then press Enter.

Sudo apt-get autoremove appmenu-gtk appmenu-gtk3 appmenu-qt

Note: you can also copy and paste commands at the prompt. To paste text at the prompt, right-click the Terminal window and choose paste from the pop-up menu.

2. The current state of your system is read and a message is displayed telling you which packages will be deleted and how much disk space will be freed by the operation. When asked if you want to continue, type "Y" (without quotation marks), and then press Enter.

3. Three packages will be deleted and returned to the prompt. To close the terminal window, type "exit" (again, without quotation marks), and then press Enter.

4. You do not have to restart for the changes to take effect. Simply close any open application window and reopen the application. The menu bar for each application should now be in its own application window. If not, log out or restart your computer.

5. The delete global menu function does not delete it from the Firefox window. To do this, you must disable the global menu bar integration add-in in Firefox. To do this, choose add-ins from the tools menu in Firefox.

Add-in Manager will open on the new tab. Click the extensions tab (use the jigsaw block icon) to view a list of currently installed extensions.

Click the disable button for the global menu bar integration extension.

You must restart Firefox for this change to take effect. Click restart the link now.

9. When Firefox restarts, the menu bar will be located in the Firefox window below the title bar as usual.

10. If you want a global menu, you can enable it using the following command in the terminal window, just as you run the command to disable it.

Sudo apt-get install appmenu-gtk appmenu-gtk3 appmenu-qt
