[IT168 Information] on June 30th, Huawei officially announced the open source database capability, opened the openGauss database source code, and established the openGauss open source community, and the community official website was launched simultaneously.

In May 2019, Huawei released its native artificial intelligence (AI-Native) database GaussDB,2019 in September 2019. Huawei announced that it would open source GaussDB and named it openGauss. Now this promise has been fulfilled on time.

According to openGauss:

OpenGauss is an open source relational database management system issued under the loose Mulan license v2. The openGauss kernel is derived from PostgreSQL, which deeply integrates Huawei's experience in the database field for many years, and continuously builds competitive features according to the requirements of enterprise-level scenarios. At the same time, openGauss is also an open source database platform that encourages community contribution and cooperation.

It is reported that openGauss is a stand-alone system, which currently supports two deployment modes: stand-alone deployment and one-master and multi-standby deployment. OpenGauss has high performance, high security, easy operation and maintenance, and fully open features, such as its two-way Kun Peng performance of 1.5 million tpmC, concurrency control technology for multi-core architecture, and failover time RTO.
