2. Three parts of RFID system

(3) Antenna: antenna is used to transmit radio frequency signal between tag and reader. The antenna in the radio frequency circuit is the bridge between the reader and the electronic tag. The radio frequency signal energy sent by the reader radiates to the space in the form of electromagnetic wave through the antenna. When the antenna of the electronic tag enters the space, it receives the electromagnetic wave energy, but can only receive a small part of it.

There are two ways of antenna coupling between the reader and the tag: one is inductive coupling, which is suitable for low-frequency RFID systems, and the other is backscattering coupling mode, which is suitable for ultra-high-frequency RFID system applications. Antenna can be regarded as the air interface between reader and electronic tag, and it is a very important part of RFID system.
