China OEM is famous for providing two kinds of Android custom skins, one for its home market, Chinese users, and the other for the rest of the world. Vivo is no exception. It sells phones with OriginOS in China and phones with Funtouch OS around the world. It is now preparing to launch its next skin iteration for Chinese buyers.

Vivo officially announced that it will hold a new event in China on December 9. At this event, it will launch OriginOS Ocean, a new version of one of the widely used custom skins of Android. It released a trailer video, and as expected, it didn't reveal much about expectations. However, it is safe to assume that the new version should provide smoother and faster performance, new visual effects, and features to improve overall productivity.

Fortunately, internal test recruitment for OriginOS Ocean is already under way. It will allow selected Chinese users to be one of the first users to try out the new software experience. There is speculation that at least 12 different models will be among the first to qualify for an internal beta. These mainly include flagship devices belonging to the Vivo X and S series, such as Vivo X70, Vivo X70 Pro, Vivo X70 Pro+, Vivo S10, and Vivo S10 Pro. A complete list with a specific release schedule is sure to be released during the release event.

There is no news about Vivo's upgrade plan for the global user base. It is important to note that the Chinese version of the Android skin for a particular OEM is no different from the global version.
