Get an INTEL SSD 710SSD from a friend and study it by the way. SSD is referred to as solid-state storage technology, which can be divided into two ways:

SSD based on flash memory: uses FLASH chip as storage medium, which is also commonly known as SSD. Its appearance can be made into a variety of patterns, such as notebook hard disk, micro-hard disk, memory card, flash drive and so on. The biggest advantage of this kind of SSD solid state memory is that it can be moved, and the data protection is not controlled by power supply, so it can adapt to various environments, but its service life is not high (about 5 years), so it is suitable for individual users.

SSD based on DRAM: DRAM is used as the storage medium, and its application range is narrow at present. Compared with traditional hard drives, SSD solid state drives have the following advantages:

Second, durable, shockproof and fall-proof. Because all flash memory chips are used, there are no mechanical parts inside the SSD solid-state memory, so that normal use will not be affected even when moving at high speed or even accompanied by flipping, and the possibility of data loss can be minimized when the laptop accidentally falls or collides with hard objects.

Third, the work is very quiet, without any noise. Because there is no mechanical motor and fan, the noise value of SSD solid state disk is 0 decibels.

Fourth, SSD solid state drives weigh 20-30 grams less than conventional 1.8in hard drives, but don't underestimate these weights. 1. The choice of operating system. In the past, WINXP or VISTA could not be installed on solid state drives, because the previous systems were not designed with SSD applications in mind, and only systems after Win 7 supported it. Be careful not to use GHOST and stripped-down versions of WIN7 to install on solid state drives. To identify solid state disks on suse linux 10, drivers need to be installed and optimizations need to be made to take full advantage of solid state disks. Other LINUX versions have not been tried yet.

2. When installing a WIN7 system, you need to enable AHCI in the disk settings of BIOS. For SSD, due to the change of storage mode, the original disk defragmentation becomes redundant, even harmful, so we need to disable disk defragmentation. In addition, Superfetch pre-reading for traditional mechanical hard disks can also be disabled.

Note: SSD is recognized during a new installation of Win7, and Disk Defragmenter (disk defragmentation) on the SSD partition is automatically disabled.

3. Reasonable spatial planning. SSD solid state drives are expensive and space is limited, so we don't need to install all the programs on SSD, we just need to install the system and frequently used programs on SSD. Of course, you can also set the temporary exchange files or cache files of some programs on SSD, such as IE browsers, which can greatly increase the speed of previously opened pages (by default, the cache files of browsers such as IE or Firefox are on the system disk and generally do not need to be modified).

4. Turn off the system restore and hibernation of WIN7, as this will damage the solid disk.

5. Virtual memory, set 4G or above to 768-1024, which does not need to be too large. Because the speed of SSD is relatively fast.

6. Do not use SSD as a download disk. The life of SSD mainly depends on the number of writes, so often using SSD as the target disk to download and write a large amount of data will shorten the life of SSD. At the same time, the bottleneck of downloading lies in your network. Using SSD will not improve your download speed.
