(1) You can create a replication task by right-clicking Replication Job under the Home menu or Job menu.

(2) At the bottom, you can check to enable Replication seeding, Network remapping and Re-IP rule. After checking, the corresponding configuration page will appear on the left.

(3) Click the Add button to add a virtual machine to copy

(4) Select the host or cluster, resource pool, virtual machine storage folder and datastore where the replicated virtual machine is stored at the target end.

Note: During the test, it is found that the source end is ESXI6.0 and the target end is vCenter6.7U1. When Datastore selects VM Encryption Policy, it will report "2019/3/7 9:59:17 :: Processing test lamp-172.16.11.62 Error: A specified parameter was not correct: spec.vmProfile ". Select the system default unencrypted policy, normal.

(5) If the port group names of the source and destination are inconsistent, select "Separate virtual networks(enable network mapping" in the first item of the configuration page, and the network configuration page will appear, selecting the network port group of the source and the network port group of the destination.

(6) For Windows hosts, IP address modification is supported during Failover replica, i.e., if "Different IP address schema(Enable Re-IP)" is selected during configuration on page 1, source IP address and destination IP address can be configured.

(7) Configure the repository storing replication metadata and the suffix name and number of reserved restore points for replication virtual machines

(8) Configure backup agents and network connection methods. You can select backup agents on the source and destination sides respectively. The default is automatic selection. It is recommended to deploy one backup agent on the source and destination sides respectively. Select whether the connection method is direct connection or WAN accelerator. If you select the option "Through built-in WAN accelerators," you need to configure WAN accelerators on the source and destination sides in advance and add them to the WAN accelerator of VBR.

(9) Check "Low connection bandwidth(Enable replica seeding)" in the first item, and the following Seeding option will appear. If the full backup file VBK is copied to the target repository in advance and rescan the target repository, the first full copy can be copied directly from the target repository through the Replica Seeding technology. Check the first item "Get seed from the following backup repository" to select the target repository where the original full backup file is stored.

If "Map replicas to existing VMs" below is checked, i.e., the virtual machine to be replicated already exists on the target side, you need to select the virtual machine that already exists on the target side, and the system will only pass on the incremental part.

Note: The same task can be configured with both Replica Seeding and Replica cloning, for example, a task includes two virtual machines, one using Replica Seeding and the other using Replica cloning. If a VM uses neither seeding nor mapping, it will be ignored by replication tasks, whereas if a VM is configured with both seeding and mapping, the seeding configuration takes precedence.

(10) Configure application awareness option, which can be used for applications Exchange, AD and Sharepoint under Windows virtual machine.

(11) Configure scheduling plan by day, month, period, and after a certain task. Click Apply.

(12) Summary of configuration, click Done

(13) You can see the newly created replication task under Replication in the Jobs menu. Right-click on the task to start replication.

After the backup is complete, you can see that the first replication is FULL full
