Preemptive instances will be passively released due to changes in market prices or adjustments in supply and demand. If the market price is higher than your bid at some point within an hour, or if the supply and demand of ECS resources changes, we will release your preemptive instance.

Is there a notification when the instance is released? How do I inform you?

There's a notice. When a preemptive instance is passively released due to changes in market price or the adjustment of supply and demand, the instance will enter the state of waiting for recovery and will be released automatically after about 5 minutes. You can check whether the instance has entered the status of waiting for recycling through the instance metadata or the OperationLocks information returned by API DescribeInstances.

Can the data be retained automatically after the instance is released?

The quota unit for preemptive instances is vCPU, not the number of instances. When creating a preemptive instance, after selecting the instance specification, you can view the available vCPU quotas.

The quota for an account in a region is at least 50 vCPU and automatically increases as the user level increases. For more information, you can refer to the usage restrictions.

How to increase the quota for vCPU?
