The Galaxy S11 may be one of the most anticipated phones in 2020, but it is not expected to be the only flagship to be launched in the first half of 2020 as in previous years. Huawei will launch a new high-end phone, the Huawei P40, in March, and the P40 Pro may be the top version of the series.

Huawei has confirmed that the P40 will be launched in Paris, France, in March. But don't get too excited about cell phones that may not be available at first. Like the Mate 30, the P40 Pro is not only unlikely to appear in stores, but phones may not even run Google Apps.

Huawei told French reporters that according to FrAndroid regulations, the P40 series will be launched in France in March next year. The news came directly from Huawei's Richard Li in an interview with the media.

The exact release date has not been disclosed, but Yu Hongmin said the P40 phone will have unprecedented design, better photo quality, better performance and longer battery life. The phone will run Android 10 on EMUI, rather than Huawei's new Hongmeng general operating system, the executive said. But phones are unlikely to have any popular Google apps, including Maps, YouTube and Gmail. Instead, the phone is likely to be supported by the company's Huawei mobile service suite launched this fall.

Yu also said the phone will be sold through traditional distribution channels, including electronic retailers and mobile operators. Obviously, the price of the phone has not been disclosed. Meanwhile, Galaxy S11 will be released in mid-February and early March.
