2.1 configuring REQUIRED_SYNCHRONIZED_SECONDARIES_TO_COMMIT affects default resource settings

SQL Server 2017 introduces REQUIRED_SYNCHRONIZED_SECONDARIES_TO_COMMIT cluster resource settings. This setting ensures that a specific number of secondary copies write transaction data to the log before the primary copy commits each transaction. This setting affects high availability and data protection when you use external Cluster Administrator. The default value of this setting depends on the schema created by the cluster resource at that time. When you install the SQL Server resource agent mssql-server-ha and create cluster resources for availability groups, Cluster Administrator detects the availability group configuration and sets REQUIRED_SYNCHRONIZED_SECONDARIES_TO_COMMIT accordingly.

If the configuration supports it, the resource agent parameter REQUIRED_SYNCHRONIZED_SECONDARIES_TO_COMMIT is set to provide high availability and data protection.
