The next LoginVSI configuration is the step of setting up the workflow, and you can adjust the parameters of the workflow to match the real environment and control and affect the workload and stress levels of the test. The setting of Workload-Setting directly affects the operation of the last desktop, and the operation here will directly affect the later results. The most important thing is to set the language, Office version and language of the system.

In customiztion, there are various types of loads defined by the system, and each load corresponds to a script. The specific load on the desktop is defined through this script. Generally speaking, benchmarking through LoginVSI is based on the standard scenarios and loads defined by LoginVSI, and it is rarely used to customize the load of third-party applications.

By clicking on the specific load, we can see what the specific load work is by looking at the script.

But generally speaking, it is more difficult to read the script later. We can check the specific instructions through the authorities. Or in the real test later, you can know how it works by monitoring a desktop.

Prepare Target Machine and publish Desktop Pool

Although you can see that Chinese is supported in OS Language in the new version of Login VSI, it is generally recommended to install an operating system in English

Prepare the system template. The OS installed in this lab is: Windows 7 x64 professional language is English

Install VMware Tools, system patch, system optimization and install View Agent; on the modified template (whether the system optimization is optimized or not and the degree of optimization have a great impact on the test results). Install the English version of Office in the template. In this lab, install Office 2013. Install the Office version of the recommended version of Office in the production environment.

Copy the "Target Setup folder" from the original unzipped LoginVSI installation file to the template

Run "Target Setup"

Select the software to install and check to add the LoginVSI group to the template's RDP group to allow remote desktops.

Next, the application checked above will be installed in the template system.

Installation completed

When doing the PowerWorker load test, because it involves playing the video; in order to successfully open the Windows Media Player, the local group policy of the editable template or the group policy in the active directory enable "do not show first use dialog box"

At the same time, in order to successfully open Office and make Office-related settings, you should also import the Office group policy template, and then enable "disable the first run of the movie" and "disable Office First Run when the application runs for the first time"

At the same time, we should also do a good job in the activation of windows and office, so as to avoid abnormal work due to activation problems.

When the template is ready, shut down the template and create a snapshot

There is no screenshot in the process of publishing the desktop pool. I believe that since the stress test has been done, the relevant desktop optimization and desktop pool release will be fine.

In this lab, the desktop pool is named "LoginVSI-Winodws7" and the display name is win7. Remember the display name "win7", which will be used later in the configuration
