The Windows 10 KB4535996 patch is an optional update that is installed only when users download it manually, but it has created a series of other problems. For example, users previously reported that the patch caused a drop in the FPS frame rate in some games, audio stutters with some sound adapters, and blue screen panic (BSOD).

According to the latest report, the KB4535996 patch can cause the system to crash and lock the device with a blue screen on the login page.

One user said, "you cannot enter any safe mode and uninstall this update. Force a restart, and GPO blocks this particular update. Microsoft says they haven't heard of any problems. However, when you search the Internet, this optional update alone will cause a lot of problems."
