Shulou(Shulou.com)05/31 Report--
Apple is reportedly changing the way it tests new versions of iOS and iPadOS. According to Bloomberg, the company is now developing a beta, or "nightly build," to turn off incomplete and defective features by default. Internal testers will be able to reopen the application by setting up a new section called Flags. In theory, this will help companies identify when newly added features or lines of code are not working properly and release fixes before external developers and customers can access it. We have contacted Apple to confirm the new development strategy. If they respond, we will update it.
The internal conversion is not surprising: iOS 13, the latest version of Apple's smartphone operating system, was full of flaws when it was released. Engadget's Chris Velazco noted that there were "some" problems with the standard iOS 13 released on several iPhone. This includes camera applications that do not start properly and operating systems that cannot determine when to turn on the flashlight. Apple released iOS 13. 1 less than a week later and corrected 24 errors in the change log. The next update, IOS 13.2, introduces an overly aggressive memory management system that must be fixed before 13.2.2. Version 12.2.3, released earlier this month, eliminates more errors.
The problem is not widespread enough to cause people to withdraw from Apple's hardware ecosystem on a large scale. However, they make people increasingly feel that the software and firmware made by Apple are not as beautiful as they used to be. As Bloomberg points out, this can be attributed in part to the increasing complexity of smartphone and tablet software. Naturally, customers want an operating system that is reliable and responsive, especially if they have just spent $700 or more on new devices.
According to Bloomberg News, the new development strategy will apply to all Apple platforms, including iPad, watchOS, macOS and tvOS. The company is already using the new iOS 14 program codenamed Azul and has debated the introduction of some newer features to iOS 15 in 2015.
