The IP addresses for HMC1 and HMC2 of the IBM P5 minicomputer are 192.168.2.147 and 192.168.3.147 by default.

If this default IP has been changed and later forgotten, the IP address of the HMC port can be read by entering function 30 on the LCD control panel of the P5 mini.

The specific steps are as follows:

Power on the server until the display on the control panel no longer changes and the power LED blinks slowly.

Use the or button of the control panel to select function 2.

Press

Button to enter function 2

Press to select N (Normal)

Use the or button to change N to M (Manual)

Press 2 times to exit function 2.

Use the or button to select function 30, press

Button to enter. The control panel displays 30 seconds *

Use the or button to make the panel display 3000 or 3001

Then press

The IP address of the corresponding HMC port can be read out on the control panel

For example, SP_A:_ETH0:_ _ _ T5\ r\ n9.5.105.243 _ _

The IP address of the HMC0 port is 9.5.105.243.

After the check is complete, use the or button of the control panel to select function 2.

Press

Button to enter function 2, press, select N

Use the or button to change M to N

Then press twice to exit function 2

Select function 1 to enter the normal mode of operation.
