Web search engine can provide users with a service to find the resources they need, which has become the second largest service on the Internet after e-mail. This paper introduces the application and advantages of data mining in search engine. Finally, the development direction of search engine is given.

Search engine is the navigation of people when they roam in the ocean of information. It originates from the search function set up by some software for the convenience of users, has experienced the development from stand-alone version to network version, from general-purpose to specialized, and from artificial to intelligent, and has become one of the most popular services on the Internet. Search engines use certain strategies to collect and find information in the mutual network, understand, extract, organize and process it, and provide retrieval services for users, so as to achieve the purpose of information navigation.

The intelligent search engine treats the whole Internet as a whole, super-large and dynamic database. Intelligent search engine mainly implements five major functions: search request submission, scheduling strategy generation, search engine scheduling management, search interface agent transformation and search results processing feedback functions. Among them, the user interface components are composed of search request submission and search results processing feedback functions, and the other functions are composed of four modules: scheduling policy generator, search engine manager and search engine agent.

(1) user interface component: the user interface component is the user interface of the system, which is responsible for receiving user requests and converting the user's operation on the system interface into system standard requests.

(2) search engine manager: the search engine manager requests the search engine agent to select the strategy from the data mining manager according to the system standard search request including the subject and region of the user request.

(3) search engine agent manager: search engine agent manager is a combination of several search engine agents. It converts the received connection request into the localized connection request called by the corresponding search engine and activates the work of the relevant engine.

(4) data mining manager: data mining manager is the main module that embodies the intelligence of the system. It is responsible for realizing the preprocessing function of the search engine knowledge base and establishing the search engine calling strategy. The search records sent by the search engine manager are statistically sorted out, and the next search engine call strategy is modified according to the specific algorithm of data mining.
