Samsung Bright HMX sensor supports video recording with a video resolution of 6k (6016x3384) and no loss of 30fps. Samsung Electronics announced the release of a 1.08 million-pixel ISOCELL bright HMX sensor for smartphones. It is the first moving image sensor with more than 100 million pixels. The South Korean giant worked closely with Xiaomi to develop the sensor. It is said that ISOCELL Bright HMX can take excellent pictures even in extreme light conditions. It is also the first large-size 1.33in image sensor that captures more light than a small sensor in low light and supports pixel merging Tetracell technology. The sensor produces a brighter 27MP image.

It is also the first 1.33-inch image sensor to capture more light in low light conditions.

The smart ISO of Samsung ISOCELL bright HMX sensor intelligently selects the amplifier level obtained according to ambient light in a bright environment to achieve the best photoelectric signal conversion, switch low ISO to increase pixel saturation and generate realistic images. This mechanism uses high ISO in dark settings to help reduce noise and make the image clearer. HMX supports video recording at 6K (6016 x 3384) and 30 frames per second (fps). Samsung ISOCELL Bright HMX will begin mass production later this month. This sensor can first be used on Xiaomi's mobile phone, probably Mi MIX 4.
