­Canonical announced that Microsoft's PowerShell Core For Linux has been released to the Linux platform in Snap packaged format. Snap packaging no longer has dependency problems, and it contains different libraries that need to be loaded, so Snap applications can be installed on most Linux distributions and are considered more secure and reliable, and easier to maintain and update.

However, Snap applications also have significant drawbacks, such as slower startup, more disk space and memory consumption, and the capacity of Snap packaged applications may be tens of times that of other package formats. Interested Linux users can now try the preview version of PowerShell Core Preview.
