This article mainly introduces how to hide and disable group policy as well as remote editing. It is very detailed and has a certain reference value. Friends who are interested must read it!
1. Hide unused group policies for the time being
If you are beginners to use Group Policy, you may be dazed by the various policies in the Group Policy Editor. Because you are not familiar with the specific location of each policy, sometimes you may have to search for most of the day in the Group Policy Editor in order to configure a policy. At this time, we can use the "filter" function of the Group Policy Editor.
In the "start" menu, "run", enter "gpedit.msc" to open the Group Policy Editor, select a directory in the left pane, right-click, select "View → filter" command in the pop-up shortcut menu to open the "filter" dialog box, on this dialog box, we can choose Group Policy Editor to display only configured policies, or you can choose Group Policy Editor to display only policies for specific software.
2. Disable the user configuration or computer configuration policy
Policies in the Group Policy Editor fall into two categories: computer configuration and user configuration. If you want to know how many of these two types of policies have been configured in the current system, or if you want to hide one of them, you can use this method: open the Group Policy Editor, right-click Local computer policies at the root of the directory tree in the left pane, and then select Properties on the shortcut menu that pops up to open the Local computer Policy Properties dialog box. If you want to hide one of these strategies here, you can check the corresponding check box at the bottom of the dialog box.
3. Edit the group policy for the remote computer
Group Policy can be edited not only locally but also remotely. On the start menu, click run, type "mmc" to open the MMC console (MicrosoftManagementConsole). By default, the MMC console creates and opens a file of "console 1". Select the "File → add / remove snap-in" command in the menu bar of the MMC console, open the add / remove snap-in dialog box, and click add on the dialog box. Select Group Policy on the pop-up independent snap-in list dialog box and click add, and on the next dialog box, we can choose whether to edit the group policy for the local computer or the group policy for the remote computer. the default choice for the system is to edit the group policy for the local computer, click Browse, and enter the path of the computer in the domain in the dialog box for selecting another computer. Or click Advanced to select another computer in your workgroup.
Clicking OK later will open Group Policy for the remote computer in console 1. Now, using this console file, we can edit the group policy of the remote computer, and after editing, you can also save "console 1" as a "? .msc" file, so that when necessary, you can double-click the file to continue to edit the computer's group policy remotely.
