As an IT network engineer, backing up the configuration of network devices is one of our daily tasks, but with the increase of devices, manual backups that used to be very erasy are now taking more and more time. As an IT lazy person, bloggers firmly believe that there must be a way to be lazy!

Pre-preparation: 1, NTP server 2, ftp/tftp server 3, command configuration

1st: time is very important in the network, so you need ntp server. You can use windows linux to build NTP server. If you have an AD domain environment, you can also point directly to DC.

2st: we need to set up ftp/tftp server users to save our backup files. Now I will directly use 3CDaemon to do experiments.

Configuration of 3st:cisco switch

SW-C2960-06 (config) # ntpserver 192.168.0.1 / points to ntpserver

SW-C2960-06 (config) # kron policy-list backup / give it a name

SW-C2960-06 (config-kron-policy) # cli sh run | redirect t ftp://192.168.8.32/test.cfg / back up the results of show run to tftp server

SW-C2960-06 (config) # kron occurrence backup at 22:00 Wed recurring / set backup cycle and time
