I. introduction
VMware vCenter Server provides a scalable and extensible platform that lays the foundation for virtualization management. The VMware vSphere environment can be managed centrally, and compared with other management platforms, it greatly improves the control of the IT administrator over the virtual environment.
VMware vCenter Server: improving centralized control and visibility at every level of the virtual infrastructure, realizing the potential of vSphere through proactive management, is a scalable and scalable platform supported by a broad partner architecture.
Whether you have more than a dozen or thousands of virtual machines, VMware vCenter Server is the easiest and most effective way to manage VMware vSphere. With VMware vCenter Server, all hosts and virtual machines in the data center can be managed from a single console, which aggregates the performance monitoring capabilities of clusters, hosts, and virtual machines. VMware vCenter Server enables administrators to gain insight into all the information about clusters, hosts, virtual machines, storage, guest operating systems, and other key components of the virtual infrastructure from one location.
With VMware vCenter Server, virtualized environments become more manageable and a single administrator can manage more than 100 workloads, doubling the efficiency of managing physical infrastructure.
2. Preparation
Prepare the environment and tools:
Three ESXi 6.0hosts; prepare a virtual machine for the Windows Server 2008 R2 system; VMware-VIM-all-6.0.0.iso

Third, the installation process 1, first insert the disk into the virtual optical drive.
2. Double-click the installer
3. Click "next" by default (as shown below)
4. Check "I accept the terms of the license agreement", and click "next"; (as shown below)
5. Default embedded deployment, click "next" (if you have purchased an external database license, you can install it according to the situation and requirements of the enterprise)
6. Pay attention to the input of "system name" in deployment. After deployment, the system name cannot be changed. After the system name is confirmed, click "next".
7. Enter the vCenterServer password and click "next"
8. Use the windows local system account by default and click "next".
9. Default "use embedded database" installation (if you purchase an external database license, you can install it according to the situation and needs of the enterprise)
10. List all the port numbers needed for vCenter to run, keep it by default, and click "next"
11. It is recommended that you do not modify the installation path, just keep the default path, and click "next"
12. All the parameters set above are listed. After confirming the correctness, click "install".
13. Installation process
14. Installation completed
4. Cluster configuration 1. Log in to https://10.0.0.31/
2. Click "hosts and clusters"
3. Create a new data center
4. Right-click "vCenter-wzlinux" in the data center, and click "New Cluster" in the pop-up menu
5. Name the vCenter cluster: vCenter-wzlinux, open the advanced features of DRS and vSphere HA, and click OK
DRS: collect resource usage information for all hosts and virtual machines in the cluster, and make recommendations or migrate virtual machines based on specific health conditions
HA: if a host fails, all virtual machines running on that host will immediately restart on other hosts in the same cluster
EVC: enhanced vMotion
Virtual SAN: centrally manage the internal disks and flash devices of x86 servers to achieve shared storage for virtual machines
6. Left-click the cluster and click "add Host"
7. "name and location"; add an ESXi6.0 host, enter the hostname or ip, and click "next" when you are finished.
8. "connection Settings"; enter the user name and password of the ESXi6.0 host, and click "next"
9. "Host Summary". We can see the basic information of the host with an ip of 10.0.0.13 ESXi, namely: host name, vendor, model, ESXi host version, number of virtual machines, and continue to click "next".
10. "assign license"; continue to click "next"
11. "Lock mode"; click "next" by default
12. "Resource Pool"; keep the default and continue to click "next"
13. After the "almost complete" configuration, this step shows the basic information of the host; click finish.
5. Configure vCenter users; 1. Default users may not be convenient to remember. If we create a user by ourselves, we first need to create a user in the system.
2. Right-click vCenter and "add permissions".
The demonstrations here are all through vSphere Client.
