In the RIPv2 version, for example, R1 now has a route for 10.1.1.2 no auto-summary 24. If no auto-summary is enabled in the RIPv2 version, then RIPv2 will transmit this route for 10.1.1.0 Universe 24.

If auto-summary is not turned off, it will be sent out as a route of 10.0. 0. 0. 0.

By direct point, auto-summary means to summarize to the main class boundary, such as 10.0.0.0Universe 8 or 172.16.0.0Universe 16 or 192.168.1.0 plus 24, but if automatic summarization is turned off, it can be sent according to the mask of the route.

Generally speaking, we recommend no auto-summary because it enables precise lookup.

In Cisco routers, some routers are no auto-summary by default, and some are manually typed, which is related to IOS.

No auto-sunmmary in the RIPv1 version doesn't make sense, even if you type no auto-summary, because RIPv1 doesn't support turning off automatic summarization in the first place. The reason is that in the RIPv1 version of the packet, there is no field identifying the mask, so the RIPv1 version does not make sense even if you no auto-summary.
