The latter mainly restores system files to undo system changes to the computer, but cannot recover deleted or damaged files. "previous versions" need to make use of restore points, but they are mainly for files, which are only part of the files and copies of folders.

2. Create shadow copies for non-system partitions

To use the previous version feature in a disk partition, system Protection for that partition must be enabled. By default, Vista only enables system Protection for the disk on which the system is located, and if you want to protect documents or data on non-system partitions, you can do the following. If we need to create a shadow copy for the E partition, execute "start the → Control Panel → system and maintain the → system", click "system Protection" in the left pane to open the "system Properties" dialog box, check "Local disk (E:)" under the "system Protection" tab, and Rahman click the "apply" button in the lower right corner. Then select the E partition again and click the create button in the lower right corner to complete the creation of the first restore point according to the prompts. 3. Restore to the previous version

If a file (folder) has been manipulated many times, or even unrecognizable, you can easily restore to a previous version as long as the disk you are on has system Protection enabled. Find the file (folder) that needs to restore the previous version, right-click to open the properties window, and switch to the "previous version" tab, where you can see that the automatically saved shadow copy is displayed in the "File version" list box. If you need to restore to a certain version, select and click the "restore" button in the lower right corner. After confirmation, you can restore from the current version to the specified version. However, this restore operation cannot be undone, so please make a backup in advance.

4. Restore deleted or renamed files

Windows Vista has a very human feature, when we accidentally delete or rename a file (folder), then immediately press the right-click menu to choose "undelete", or press the "Ctrl+Z" key combination to undo. However, if you have done other file operations during this time, then the previous method will not work, but if the disk on which the file (folder) is located has system Protection enabled, then we can restore it through the previous version feature.

First, go to the parent path where the deleted or renamed file (folder) is located, and click the "∧" button next to "folder" at the bottom of the left pane in order to expand the folder list. Right-click to select and navigate to the folder that contains deleted or renamed files or folders. Then, right-click the folder, and you will see the "restore previous version" command in the shortcut menu, and after selecting it, you can see all the versions that can currently be restored. Finally, double-click a version to be restored, and a "previous" folder window will open. You can see that the title bar at the top of the window shows time information that you have never seen before. This is the shadow copy saved in the system. 1. Simply create a "password reset disk"

Insert the USB disk into the host, execute "start → Control Panel → user account and Family Safety →; user account", click "create password reset disk" in the left pane to pop up the "forgot password Wizard" dialog box, and click "next" in the "I want to create a password key disk in the following drive" list to select the inserted U drive. Then you can complete the creation of the password reset disk according to the wizard.

Click the start → all programs → maintenance → Windows remote Assistance command to start the remote Assistance program. Click "invite trusted people to help you" in the main interface of the program to go to the next interface. The program provides two invitations: "send an invitation by email" and "save this invitation as a file". It is recommended to use the second invitation method here. After selection, the program prompts you to set the location of the invitation file and the password to accept the invitation in the next interface. Then click finish, and the program opens a "wait for connection" window. This invitation has been successfully made, and then you see an invitation file named Invitation.msrcincident at the specified location.

2. Remote assistance

Send the above Invitation.msrcincident file to the helper, then the helper only needs to double-click the file to pop up the assistance dialog box, enter the correct password and act as the control side to implement remote assistance to the assisted party. Click the "Settings" button in the upper toolbar of the control interface. In the settings interface, we can set "Broadband usage", which is generally set to "medium to High". If you want to control the invited computer, you can click the "get Control" button in the remote Assistance interface on the control side, so you can easily control the other person's computer.
