IDA search Chinese string

The string window of IDA can only be displayed in English by default. Some methods on the Internet are to specify that the parameters at startup can be displayed in Chinese.

There is also to modify the cfg/ida.cfg file, but neither of these methods has been tried successfully. In fact, it's not that troublesome. IDA 7.0 is easy to operate. Right-click Setup in the string list window, as shown in the following figure.

Check Unicode C-style (16 bits) on the dialog box and click OK, as shown in the following figure. In addition, it should be noted that the Minimal string lenght at the end of the figure sets the minimum string length, for example, 5, then strings less than 5 cannot be displayed, which can be configured according to different circumstances. If the configuration is too small, there will be a lot of meaningless data, which may not be strings.

Once set up, you can display Chinese characters, and there is no problem with searching Chinese, as shown in the figure. Click on the corresponding string to locate the reference position of the string in the code.
