Samsung usually likes to say that mobile phones are expensive, but today the Korean brand quietly launched a new entry-level model Galaxy A01, which is not so bad.

Display with notch and 13MP main camera.

The smartphone features an Infinity-V display, following in the footsteps of several inexpensive Samsung devices on the market. The monitor features a V-groove at the top, a fairly uniform frame, and a huge chin at the bottom.

Samsung opted for a 5.7-inch HD panel size (1560 X 720p). Unfortunately, the company cut costs by replacing AMOLED technology with LCD displays, although this is not uncommon in the target price range.

The Galaxy A01 is decorated with a plastic panel at the rear and a vertical camera in the upper left corner. The module has a 13 megapixel camera, an LED flash and a 2 megapixel depth sensor. In fact, the sensor doesn't do much work, but it can still help resolve the garish blurred background in portrait photos.

It also offers a headphone jack on top of the phone, rear speakers and a 3000 mAh battery. However, there appears to be no sign of fingerprint scanners or any other form of secure biometric identification.

Amazing storage and memory.

The Samsung Galaxy A01 is fitted with an unspecified eight-core chipset consisting of four cores clocked at 1.95Ghz and another four cores clocked at 1.45Ghz, and impressively comes with 128GB of expandable memory and 6GB of RAM as standard. A separate version of 8GB of memory is also planned.

Since Samsung didn't provide any details, the software remains a mystery, but the phone probably has Android 9 and One UI. Whether any updates are guaranteed remains to be seen.

While there are rumors that the price plan is around $100, there is no information on price and availability. This product should be available in most other Asian markets and potentially European markets.
