Shulou(Shulou.com)06/02 Report--
This article mainly introduces the most commonly used video formats, which have a certain reference value, interested friends can refer to, I hope you can learn a lot after reading this article, let the editor take you to understand.
The most commonly used video formats are AVI format, DV-AVI format, MPEG format and DivX format. Video in AVI format can be run in all Windows systems. DV-AVI format is a household digital video format, MPEG format is a cross-platform video format, and DivX format is a video coding standard.
The operating environment of this tutorial: windows7 system, Dell G3 computer.
1.AVI format
Its full name in English is Audio Video Interleaved, that is, audio and video interlaced format. The file name ends with ".avi".
It was launched by Microsoft in 1992 and is known and known by people along with Windows3.1. The so-called "audio and video interleaving" means that video and audio can be intertwined and played synchronously.
The advantage of this video format is good image quality and can be used across multiple platforms, but its disadvantage is that the volume is too large, and what is worse is that the compression standard is not uniform, so it is often encountered that the high version of Windows media player can not play AVI format video edited with early encoding, while the lower version of Windows media player can not play AVI format video edited with the latest encoding.
2.DV-AVI format
DV, whose English full name is Digital Video Format, is a household digital video format jointly proposed by Sony, Panasonic, JVC and other manufacturers. At present, the very popular digital cameras use this format to record video data. It can be accessed through the IEEE of the computer.
The 1394 port transmits the video data to the computer, and the edited video data in the computer can also be recorded back to the digital camera. The file extension for this video format is generally .avi, so we used to call it the DV-AVI format.
3.MPEG format
Its full name in English is Moving Picture Expert Group, that is, the motion picture expert group format, which is often seen at home, such as VCD, SVCD and DVD. MPEG file format is the international standard of moving image compression algorithm, which adopts lossy compression method to reduce the redundant information in moving image.
The file name ends with ".mpg" or ".mpeg". MPEG is a cross-platform video format that plays normally on almost all browsers.
The compression method of MPEG is to keep most of the same parts of the adjacent images and remove the redundant parts of the subsequent images and the previous images, so as to achieve the purpose of compression.
At present, there are three compression standards for MPEG format, namely MPEG-1, MPEG-2, and MPEG-4. In addition, MPEG-7 and MPEG-21 are still in the stage of research and development.
MPEG-1: established in 1992, it is an international standard designed for digital storage media moving images and their accompanying audio coding with data transfer rates below 1.5Mbps. This is what we usually see as the VCD format. File extensions for this video format include .mpg, .mlv, .mpe, .mpeg and .dat files on VCD discs.
MPEG-2: developed in 1994, the design goal is advanced industry standard image quality and higher transmission rate. This format is mainly used in the production (compression) of DVD/SVCD, as well as in some HDTV (high definition television broadcasting) and some demanding video editing and processing. File extensions for this video format include .mpg, .mpe, .mpeg, .m2v and .vob files on DVD discs.
MPEG-4: developed in 1998, MPEG-4 is specially designed to play high-quality video of streaming media. It can use very narrow band to compress and transmit data through frame reconstruction technology, in order to achieve the best image quality with the least amount of data. The most attractive thing about MPEG-4 is that it can save small video files close to DVD image quality. File extensions for this video format include .asf, .mov, DivX, AVI, and so on.
4.DivX format
This is another video coding (compression) standard derived from MPEG-4, which is commonly known as DVDrip format, which adopts the compression algorithm of MPEG4 and combines the technologies of MPEG-4 and MP3. To put it bluntly, it uses DivX compression technology to compress the video image of DVD disk with high quality, and uses MP3 or AC3 to compress audio at the same time. Then the video format is formed by synthesizing video and audio and adding corresponding plug-in subtitle files. Its picture quality is close to that of DVD and its volume is only a fraction of that of DVD.
