Linux Professional Institute (LPI)

Linux+

The Linux+ certification program sponsored by CompTIA is the latest to enter the Linux certification market. The program was officially launched on September 21, 2001, and has aroused widespread concern among Linux practitioners and the industry. Almost all major certified publishers have written exam reference books for Linux+ certification, and many IT training centers are preparing Linux+ certification programs.

Like other "+" certifications launched by CompTIA, the Linux+ qualification certificate can be obtained by passing only one exam (held by VUE and Prometric testing centres). Once you have obtained the Linux+ qualification certificate, the certificate will be valid for life. The Linux+ exam, which costs $190, is a 120-minute multiple-choice exam that covers much of the same content as Sair and LPI certification, but slightly less difficult.

The LPI and Sair certification programs are aimed at experienced Linux network and system administrators, while Linux+ certification is aimed at individuals who have only about half a year's Linux experience and want to obtain basic Linux technical qualifications.

Red Hat Certified Engineer

Linux+ represents the low-level Linux certification program, while the advanced Linux certification has long been almost entirely dominated by the Red Hat CertifiedEngineer (RHCE) certification program. RHCE is the most challenging certification exam in this field, so it is also the most valuable Linux certification. But it is also the most expensive, the full course costs $2498, or you can take a separate certification test, which costs $749.
