This article shows you what to do when the RPC service is not available. The content is concise and easy to understand. It will definitely brighten your eyes. I hope you can get something through the detailed introduction of this article.

Remote Procedure Call is abbreviated to RPC service. The "shock wave" virus that was raging in the past took advantage of its loophole * * the Windows 2000/XP/2003 operating system based on the NT kernel, and many users disabled the RPC service in order to evade it. However, because of the strong interdependence between Windows services, when RPC services are disabled, many system services that rely on RPC services can not function properly, such as Messenger services, Windows Installer services and so on. In addition, it may also lead to some application failure and system exceptions. So how do you start the service?

The method to start the service is described below.

1: modify the registry method

Click start →, type "Regedit" to open the Registry Editor, expand the branch "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\ SYSTEM\ CurrentControlSet\ Services\ RpcSs", change the value of the Start key to "00000002", and restart the system.

2: use the sc.exe command

Click "start →", type "cmd" to enter the "Command prompt" window, type "sc config RpcSs start= auto" command, the system will display " SC  ChangeServiceConfig SUCCESS", so that the RPC service can be started successfully.

Note: if you want to use the "sc" command, you must install Windows 2000 sc 2003 Resource Kit (Resource Kit), otherwise it will not work.

3: use the recovery console

Take the Windows XP system as an example, insert the system installation CD into the CD drive and set it to boot from CD-ROM in the BIOS parameter; after starting the computer, the system goes to the Windows XP installation interface and press the "R" key to log in to the recovery console. Under the recovery console, type the "enable RpcSs service_auto_start" command, and then type the "exit" command to restart the system and log in in normal mode to start the RPC service successfully.

Note: "Enable" is a command provided by the recovery console to start system services and device drivers and can only be used under the recovery console.

4: enable RPC service in service management

"start"-- > "Settings"-- > "Control Panel" find "Administrative tools"-> "Service", find "Remote Procedure Call (RPC)", double-click to open, select "automatic" in "Startup Type", click OK; find "Remote Procedure Call (RPC) Locator", double-click to open, select "automatic" in "Startup Type", click OK; finally restart the computer to solve the problem.

In addition, if your system is xp, before rebooting, click "start"-"run", run msconfig, select "normal start", then all services, including rpc services, will be loaded; select "selective Startup", you must select "load system Services" to ensure that the service is loaded at startup.

5: enable DCOM service

"start"-> "Settings"-> "Control Panel" find Administrative tools-> Services, find "DCOM Server Process Launcher", double-click to open it, select "automatic" in "Startup Type", click OK; finally, restart the computer to solve the problem.

The above is what to do if the RPC service is not available. Have you learned any knowledge or skills? If you want to learn more skills or enrich your knowledge reserve, you are welcome to follow the industry information channel.
