Apple CEO Tim Cook will travel to Birmingham, Ala., on Thursday to announce an education plan with Randall Woodfin.

It was unclear what Cook announced Thursday. It's likely that this will be an extension of Apple's "Everyone Can Code" program and will also buy a lot of hardware.

Apple launched Everyone Can Code in 2016, a comprehensive training program for Apple's Swift language. Apple said in November 2018 that more than 5000 schools, community colleges and technical colleges worldwide were using the materials.

Apple says that developing apps using Swift is designed to give students the critical skills they need to meet their demanding and highly skilled jobs. Apple also released AP Computer Science Principles syllabus and curriculum for free, allowing high school students to learn App development through Swift and earn Advanced Placement credits.

Students can also obtain certification through Swift Learning through application development of SWIFT Level 1 certification exams offered by the Certification Authorisation Test Centre.

Apple's redesigned Everyone Can Code program was designed for older kids and now includes preschoolers who can learn the basics in a new, appropriate coding lab. In addition, Apple also brought Apple TV "Sesame Street" derivative products "helper." Basic principles of code grammar and programming for preschool and kindergarten children. According to WBRC, the announcement is not open to the public.
