1. Patch pack download address https://www.vmware.com/patchmgr/download.portal and upload its zip file to VSAN or shared storage

3. Migrate the virtual machine and put the Esxi host into maintenance mode

2.ssh Esxi host (if the ssh service is not enabled in Esxi host, it needs to be enabled)

Execute on 4.ssh: esxcli software vib update-d path / / * there will be a prompt for sucessed and restart after successful execution

Tips: the path to vsan and storage is in the / vmfs/volumes/ directory

Path refers to the path where updates are uploaded.

5. Restart the Esxi host (must)

6. Check to see if the Esxi version number is updated after reconnecting to VC
