Sipp is a stress testing tool for sip server. Sipp runs on a linux-like system or windows+cygwin environment and uses a multi-process request sending mechanism.

Sip (session initialization Protocol) is an application layer protocol, which is carried on udp and tcp. It is widely used in the signaling layer of voice and video calls. In the test scenario with problems, I used the tcp connection. In order to construct the stress test scenario, sipp needs to simulate multiple terminals to make requests to the server, and each terminal has to establish a tcp connection with the server. Sipp continuously sends requests to the server by calling the socket connect method. Each connect request will randomly assign a port for the connection, but the assigned port has a range. Recorded at: / proc/sys/net/ipv4/ip_local_port_range

Execute # cat / proc/sys/net/ipv4/ip_local_port_range under root permission to view the port range. The default randomly assigned port range for centos and Fedora is 32768 to 61000.

When too many requests are made with multiple processes, this error will be reported when the port runs out. Therefore, in order to reach the bottleneck of the sip server connection, in addition to adjusting the port range, we need to set up another sipp on another machine.
