DHCP server building

Dynamic Host setup Protocol (English: Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol,DHCP) is a network protocol of a local area network. It works with UDP protocol and has two main uses: for intranets or network service providers to automatically assign IP addresses, and for users to use intranet administrators as a means of central management of all computers.

DHCP server means that the server controls a range of IP addresses, and when the client logs in to the server, it can automatically obtain the IP address and subnet mask assigned by the server.

Environment: server system and windows system, built on server2016, access to win10 to obtain the assigned IP address. (operate on a virtual machine)

1. Open the server2016 and win10 systems and change the network adapter to host-only mode in the virtual machine settings.

2. In order to prevent the virtual machine from assigning IP addresses itself, we need to open the virtual network editor in the editing of the virtual machine, select VMnet1 to change the setting, and use the local DHCP service to assign the IP address to the virtual machine.

3. Open the Network-Network sharing Center in the server2016 system-change the adapter settings and click ipv4. We need to manually set the IP address of a server first.

4. We open the server manager in the start menu of server2016, click add roles and functions-role-based or feature-based installation-Select your server type-server role with DHCP ticked-confirm that the installation is closed

5, click the start button, find the windows management tool, find DHCP and open it. Right-click New scope at IPV4-enter active domain name-configure address range-configure excluded address range-set lease term-configure a gateway-configure DNS address-next activate this application domain

6. At this point, we right-click run at the beginning of the win10 system, enter cmd, and enter ipconfig. At this time, we can see that the IP address is an address we configured from DHCP.

7. If we need to keep a specific IP address, we can create a new one in DHCP, where we enter the reserved name, reserved IP address, and MAC address (we type arp-an in the server system cmd to find this address and right-click to copy it and paste it here. This address is the same as the address of win10)

8. At this time, we enter ipconfig / release in the win10 system cmd to release the address, enter ipconfig / renew to refresh, and then we can see that the IP address we reserved can be used.

9, we can also disable the IP address through the filter, right-click on the filter to create a new filter, copy and paste the MAC address found above here, add it, and then enable it.

10, this is when we win10 went to ask for the IP address and found that we couldn't get in touch with it. Enter ipconfig and you can find that the IP address at this time is an address automatically given locally.

If you want to re-enable it, you can just disable it in the rejection, and then release the address and refresh it.
