There is a schedule management feature in Ubuntu 17.10. Today let's take a look at how to use this feature.

Add reminders to the Calendar program

1. Enter the desktop of Ubuntu 17.10, and in the middle of the top panel bar is the calendar control. Without clicking, it displays the date and time; after clicking expand, it displays the notification on the left and the calendar panel on the right.

However, the calendar panel on the right does not support adding calendar items directly, but needs to be added through the Calendar application. Press the Win key to enter the overview view, type "Calendar" or "Calendar" in the search box, the calendar program icon will be displayed below, click to start it.

3. In the calendar window that opens, click a date number, which will pop up the "New Event" dialog box and enter the title of the event in the first text box.

4. Click the "add" button, and then click the calendar control on the top panel bar, and you will see the new event added in the previous step on the left side of the expanded calendar panel.

5. Go back to the Calendar program window and click the item you just added, and the details dialog box for the event will pop up. Cancel the check box for all Day.

6. Then, set the start and end times for the event. In the picture, the start time is on the left and the end time is on the right.

7. Click the drop-down list on the right side of the reminder to set the amount of advance time for the reminder, and then click the small gargle icon on the right side of the list to open the reminder sound.

8. Now that everything is set up, the items in the calendar are pointed to by the mouse. Now you can do something else, and then a reminder will pop up on the top panel bar.

II. Pop-up and viewing reminders

When the reminder time is up (for example, we set a reminder 5 minutes in advance), a message notification will pop up on the top panel bar. In the pop-up window, click "miss" to end the reminder; click "nap" to delay the reminder.
