Find and expand HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop\WindowMetrics in the registry. The string value named IconSpacing on the right side of this option determines the horizontal spacing between desktop icons. Its specific algorithm is: string value ÷(-15)= pitch pixel value.

For example, the default value of this string is-1125, which means that the horizontal spacing is 75 pixels (-1125 $>(-15)=75). We just need to change it to the value we want, say 100 pixels to change the IconSpacing value to-1500.

Next, we need to modify the value of the IconVerticalSpacing string in the same way, which represents the vertical spacing between desktop icons.

After changing these two values, restart the computer, and then click the right mouse button on the desktop to uncheck "Align icon with grid" in View, and then check it again. At this point, you will notice that the spacing of desktop icons has increased.
